A solid eighteen carat yellow gold chain, or necklace. This is an unusual, subtle and attractive chain. Unlike most chains that consist of links, this design is a woven and braided length of fine gold. The necklace is secured by a tongue style clasp, with safety catch. This style of clasp is very secure, and requires two actions to open.  The chain is quite fine, but a good quality, and being a higher carat of gold, actually has good weight to it. A necklace like this in a lower purity gold would weigh substantially less.

The purity of the gold gives the necklace a beautiful colour to it, plus this is an older necklace, and so has a lovely antique quality to its appearance. The overall quality is very good and the design fairly unusual, and weighing in at eleven grams. It is a very long thirty one and a half inches in length, so a very generous size, wearing long from the neck.  Made in Italy, fully stamped and hallmarked on, and around the clasp.  Circa 1970's.
